The Lector
Scope and Contents
The newsletter, The Lector, originated in October 1939 with the title SINITE PARVULOS VENIRE AD ME. It was a Novitiate venture - the first issue only a one page report on local happenings. The second issue contained the Provincial Directory. By the third issue, it had become a news vehicle for what Viatorians were doing within the Province. The fourth issue bore a new title, THE LECTOR. The last issue appeared in February 1942 due to the lack of an editor. LECTOR appeared again in December 1944 with FR. Norbert Ginsburg as editor. It was published until April-May 1947. June 1952, LECTOR was reorganized and published by the Chicago Scholastics until May 1961.
