Scope and Contents

The Viatorian religious have held reunions for former Viatorians to come together to renew old friendships and to reconnect with the past.  All were called to the Community, if only for a short time - and are still tied to one another as Viatorians in spirit. This small collection holds listings of former Viatorians from reunions held in 1986 and 2002.

Scope and Contents The Year of Our Lord Calendar booklet is published and distributed annually to the Community. It originated as a 'birthday' and 'born into eternal life' calendar of the Viatorians along with the feast days of saints and religious holy days and holidays. Over time, the contents have expanded to include the Jubilarians, the telephone and e-mail directories and a directory of the deceased members of the US Province. Correspondence between the Provincial and the bishops of various dioceses/archidioceses across the United States pertaining to business between the organizations, primarily Viatorian members working as teachers and/or pastors, 1881-2005 Also, included in this collection is correspondence with the Apostalate Delegation in Washington DC, 1896-1965, and with the Military Ordinariate in New York, 1918-1958 - these files are at the end of the last box and not arranged by city.

Scope and Contents The Viatorian Community Directory is published annually and distributed in the Fall by the Provincial Office.  It started in 1939 in response to many requests as to the whereabouts of the confreres.  This initial directory was published as a listing in the Lector, a newsletter, Christmas 1939, Vol. I, No. 2.  It gives information by city/state and institutions therein, listing the confreres who ministered, lived and/or attended school at each location.
