Scope and Contents
"When meeting together, the General Council and the Provincial Superiors constitute the Extraordinary General Council. The Extraordinary General Council is normally a consultive body. Its purpose is to promote an effective solidarity between the General Council and the provinces and thus to strengthen the unity of the Congregation. It is called upon to give its advice to the General Council on important questions and exceptional situations that the General Council submits to it."1 The collection includes various materials, such as, programs, correspondence, reports, declarations, photographs, notes and summaries of decisions.
