Biographical or Historical Information
The Seminary Aid Association was established in Jan. 1950 to provide material support for the education of future Viatorians for America and the foreign missions. An administrative board was appointed by the provincial to organize, direct and execute the program. The 'Direct Mail Method' was used to publicize the work and needs of the Viatorians.
A second organization called the Nazareth League was established for all those who help support the Viatorians by their prayers and offerings.
Also, several burses were established to fund the students.
In 1957, a house was purchased across the street from the Viatorian novitiate in Arlington Heights, IL. It was called the Mission House - the headquarters for the work of mission ministries. Located here were the offices of the Seminary Aid Association, the Foreign Missions, the Nazareth League and the Philangeli. It remained as such until the building was sold in 1998 and a comprehensive development program was being implemented in the province.
