Scope and Contents

The records of the Philangeli Association include historical notes, administrative correspondence, membership correspondence, a few financial reports, examples of form letters, monthly direct mailing letters sent to the membership, letterhead and envelopes used, promotional materials - pamphlets and prayer cards both CSV and non-CSV. Other resources include various articles and booklets about angels - both CSV and non-CSV publications. "Angelbriefs" was a Viatorian promotional publication. Biographical or Historical Information

The Pious Association of the Philangeli (Friends of the Angels) was approved in the Archdiocese of Chicago by Cardinal Stritch on Sept. 21, 1956 and entrusted to the Viatorians. It was affiliated with the Archconfraternity of St. Michael the Archangel. The purpose, in particular, was to spread devotion to the Holy Guardian Angels and in general, to spread devotion to the Holy Angels.
