"The General Chapter constitutes the supreme authority in the Congregation.  In its activities of regulation and legislation, the General Chapter acts colegially in the name of the whole Congregation that it represents."1 "It is composed of the Superior General and the General Councilors, the Provincial Superiors, certain members by right of office, and a determined number of delegates from each province.  It is convoked by the Superior General, or, if he is able to do so, by the Vicar General, according to the determinations of the General Regulations."2 The first General Chapter, called by Fr. Querbes, was held in 1845 to make decisions and changes in the community regulations, statutes, etc.  The Chapters continue to the present day.  In 2006, the General Chapter was held with the first General Assembly, which included Associates. The materials contained in the collection include summaries of decisions, lists of attendees, photographs, correspondence, pre and post chapter documents and reports. Box/folder listing
